Sunny, Dry and Cool Northumberland Climate

Given its north easterly location, Northumberland has a surprisingly moderate climate, when compared to the rest of the UK it's best described as dry, cool and sunny.

We are quite lucky that Northumberland that the weather is fairly consistent throughout the year and we avoid most of the weather extremes seen elsewhere across the UK (floods, droughts etc). The average rainfall is well below the overall UK.

Temperatures are best during the British summer of June through to September. During this period the temperature will range from 17°C to 20°C which are perfect conditions for beach or countryside activities (from relaxing on the beach to cycling & walking in the National Park.).

The Autumn months (September to November) can also produce some very good weather although towards the end of October the temperatures will noticeably drop. Typically during these months you well get some lovely bright, but cool days, that are perfect for exploring during the day and then get back to Honeysuckle and curl up in front of the open fire.

The Winter months from mid November to February are the coldest months of the year, often below zero at night and you may see some snow.

Spring is a wonderful time to visit the UK and with beautiful coast and country Northumberland is the place to be from mid March to June. The Spring generally has a lower rainfall than autumn with plenty of nice sunny days.
